A computer is a device that can be instructed through a set of instructions or programs to carry out arithmetic or logical operations. Through programs these machines can be made to repeat operations, unlimited times and thereby reduce human work phenomenally. Computers are used as control systems for a wide variety of industrial and consumer devices.
