Republic day is a national festival of India and celebrated all around the country. This day is celebrated in order to honor the Indian Constitution, as on 26 January 1950 Constitution came into action.
Since then every year it is celebrated on the same day. On this day there is also a national holiday in the country. Indian Constitution planned to came to action on 26 January to celebrate the Purna Swaraj Day as well. Purna Swaraj day was planned on 26 January 1930, at Lahore.
About the Constitution:
Draft of Indian Constitution was prepared by Bhimrao Ambedkar and 2 years 11 months and 18 days, it took to prepare the final draft of the Constitution. 308 Indian assembly members sign the Indian Constitution document on January 24, 1950, and on 26th January 1950, Dr. Rajendra Prasad also swore as a president of India.
The celebration of Republic day lasts for around 3 days and concluded on every 29th January. It is a very proud thing to know that Indian Constitution is also known as the largest Constitution of the world and it provides every citizen it's personal right and helps the country to maintain its democracy and integrity.
The celebration of Indian Constitution:
On every year, huge celebration event organized at the Capital of India, New Delhi. The parade is organized at Rajpath, India gate in which is attended by the president and prime minister along with others ministers.
In the parade, Indian Army shows its strength and march past through Rajpath and honor the national flag of India. At Amar Jawan Jyoti, prime minister of India gives a wreath tribute and also honor the martyred soldiers at India gate (where names of all the freedom fighters are written).
President also pays the honor to Army martyr’s family and gives bravery awards to some of the brave soldiers. Each and every state represent their state’s Jhanki at India gate which looks really beautiful and attractive.
