There are some cases where people find it difficult to differentiate between manmade and artificial mountains. This topic raises a lot of heated debate among people. Let us start off by defining the terms manmade and artificial. Manmade is caused by human activities. This is mostly unplanned or unexpected. On the other hand artificial means being created by an expert. Artificial features are created for a certain purpose.

Manmade mountains are triggered by human activities. These mountains take a lot of time to form, depending on the tendency of the human activity. Manmade mountains don’t require any plan or cost. Manmade mountains are similar to natural mountains in that it is difficult for a person to differentiate. They both contain natural features such as trees, rivers or even animal inhabitant. They are prone to tear from natural activities such as erosion, deposition, and weathering among others.

Artificial Mountains:

These Mountains are different from man-made in various ways. First; the study is conducted before any artificial mountain is made. These mountains aim towards changing the environment of a location or preventing certain natural occurrence among others. Mountains are known to affect the environment. It increases the amount of rainfall in a region. Artificial mountains are planned for in that a location is established where the mountain shall be developed. It is easy to differentiate between natural and artificial mountains. Artificial mountains contain certain species as they are controlled, unlike natural mountains which contain numerous species. 

That’s not all; the amount of snow in the artificial mountain is controlled, depending on the intended goal. In addition, artificial mountains can be redesigned if it doesn’t meet its intended target. They are very expensive to create and require a lot of funding. There are very few artificial mountains in the world. Dubai is one of the few countries in the world planning to create the biggest artificial mountain.
