Some severe long-hour workers are individuals who think that they are more efficient after completing regular business hours. These employees are frequently motivated by their bosses and senior team members to remain in office till late in the night.

To grow vigorously, we require sufficient daylight and fresh air, daily sustenance and hydration, a good night's sleep and daily workout. However, the working culture in most companies needs employees to strip themselves of all these to remain first at work. Most employees who work long hours generally hold responsible the management for encouraging this culture.

Employees have to place these general requirements on the cold storage to remain ambitious. Short and long-term illness, performance management problems, mental failure and physical health problems all come with this high-emphasis work environment that most of us reside in.

Investigation states that the main causes why people invest more time at work are because of fruitless interruptions such as social media, surfing the internet and private messages. The more time people stay in office the resources are used to power, computers, cafeteria, and others which is added to the variable cost incurred.

The Human resources team must ensure that top and middle management perceives that long working hours could manifest to be harmful and they are directing the way to modify the culture of long working hours.

Slowly the trend is changing and short and effective working hours are back. Managers are encouraging effective time-management and ensuring the day’s work gets done within the given working hours.
