Mother’s love, care, kisses and hugs are priceless. Recent studies say that the more the mother hugs her children, the more the brain develops. According to neurologists, the size of the child who is loved and treated well has large brain when compared to the size of the child who is neglected.

Impact on Brain Development:

  • The way a child is treated by his mother will have an impact on his brain development.
  • When a mother hugs her baby, a bond created between them will have  positive feelings which make the basis for the healthy, social, and emotional development of the child.
  • The results  of these shortfalls are noticeable, the child with the larger brain will be more intelligent and more expected to develop the social ability to identify and to be identified by others.

But in disparity, the child with the tiny or shrunken brain will be more likely to become a drug addict and may involve in violent crimes. They are much more likely to be unemployed and will be dependent on others. They are  more likely to develop mental and other serious health problems.

Studies have found that the levels of oxytocin were interrelated with the level of social engagement and bonding of the child with the parents.

Additionally, the increased level of oxytocin hormone is linked to stronger mother-infant bonding. Hugging can increase the level of oxytocin in the body and thus strengthen the relationship between the mother and child. It also lowers stress and reduces social discrepancies later in life. The release of oxytocin in the child and mother can also be stimulated by actions like breastfeeding, skin-to-skin contact such as hugging.

Hence take your time for enjoying with your children and hugging them to show your love and affection every single day. It will increase the level of oxytocin, and support brain development.
