In the 2 decades old Blackbuck killing case, Salman gets a five-year imprisonment along with a 10 thousand rupees fine. Salman is convicted in the 9/51 Wildlife Act. A warrant for the imprisonment was immediately issued against Salman Khan and he was immediately sent to the Jodhpur central jail.
Earlier, the public prosecutor Shobraj Khatri demanded a rigorous imprisonment for not only killing a rare and State animal of Rajasthan but also offending the sentiments of the community like 'Bishnoi Samaj' which has been working for the welfare of wildlife and such animals since ages.
Well, Salman Khan has been convicted for 5 years imprisonment because he not only carried out the whole offense of killing the State animal Blackbuck or Chinkara but also found guilty of concealing the fact. He even kept on beating his own trumpet of being innocent. (Which he and his lawyers have been doing for past 19 years).
Moreover, we should not forget the role of ‘Bishnoi Samaj’ (community) for keeping the whole case alive since two decades and striving hard to get the justice for wildlife for which their ancestors sacrificed their lives long ago.
