Irfan Khan Finally Speaks Up About His Rare Disease

After restless nights for Irfan Khan fans and close ones, finally, he has shared some updates about his rare disease as he promised to fans. Many celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Manoj Bajpayee, Chitrangada Singh and others posted some updates regarding Irfan’s health and requested everyone to respect his privacy and support him with love and care.

After around 10 days of his last post on Twitter, today he tweeted and updated his fans that he has been diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumor. It is really sad to hear this because in this disease, a tumor can develop in the intestines, in the lungs, pancreas or anywhere in the rest of the body and are hard to detect and treat. Also, the survival rate of this disease depends on many factors such as the affected body organs, whether the tumor is benign or malignant, and few other factors. It does not have a fixed type of treatment and totally depends on its intensity. 

He posted a picture on Twitter saying “The unexpected makes us grow, which is what the past few days have been about. Learning that I have been diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumour as of now has admittedly been difficult, but the love and strength of those around me and that I found within me has brought me to a place of hope. The journey of this is taking me out of the country, and I request everyone to continue sending their wishes. As for the rumors that were floated NEURO is not always about the brain and googling is the easiest way to do research ;-) To those who waited for my words, I hope to be back with more stories to tell.”

Vishal Bhardwaj had also announced last month about Irfan's illness and said he had to push back his upcoming project with Deepika Padukone and Irfan Khan. This is because both the actors were suffering from some health issues.

Irrfan Khan’s next film Blackmail, directed by Abhinay Deo, is also round the corner and its first song “Badla” will be releasing soon. Because from last few days, he is out of action, Irfan wants Blackmail to get the best release and not suffer due to his absence. He does not want the release of Blackmail to be pushed owing to his inability to promote it. So as per Irfan’s wish and following his statements, the makers are going ahead and giving it the “best release” as scheduled on April 6.

The director shared his views and said “According to me, for an actor, comedy is the most difficult genre to pull off. It is all about timing and in this territory Irfan is one of the best. It was such a joy to watch him convert a scene which was funny on paper to hilarious as he performed it live. He is a master at doing less to express more. In this film, he had very few lines and that makes it very difficult as everything depends on his expressions. You have to watch the film to see a great actor at his best with that.”

All that Irfan needs right now is support, care, and love from his family, friends, and all we fans. For the treatment of the same, he is going out of the country and requested all his fans to keep supporting and sending his good wishes, which ultimately help the warrior to recover soon. Like his other fans, I too wish him a speedy path to recovery and hoping to see him soon in many more movies doing what he does best - acting!
