A Big Relief - HIV Treatment Launched in India

Yes! It is absolutely true and might come as a relief for many fighting against this deadly virus in India. Now, it can be assumed that after few years, it might be treated as a game changer in the field of pharma business as there were no drugs available earlier for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in India.

AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is a syndrome caused by a virus called HIV and can be transmitted through sexual, perinatal and blood transmission. Hetero had launched generic anti-retroviral fixed-dose combination (FDC) of Emtricitabine (200mg) and Tenofovir Alafenamide (25mg). This can be used for the treatment of HIV-1 in adults and pediatric patients above the age of 12 years. The medication can be induced in a combination of anti-retroviral agents.

This HIV treatment drug has been approved by the Drug Controller General of India and also very soon it will be marketed and distributed under the brand name ‘TAFERO-EM’ by Hetero Healthcare Ltd. Hopefully, the HIV affected people in India can take a sigh of relief, and we should see a decline in the graph of deaths caused by HIV.
