Among many issues, talking about periods in public is still treated as a biggest mistake or crime or a taboo in India.

There are various reasons behind this.

Wrong Concept: The concept of the period is wrong. Still, people don't understand the process is as natural as any other biological process.

Negativity: They take it in a negative way. Still, in many rural areas, girls/women are suffering from the untouchable issue. People look at them like they are dirty and impure and nobody should touch them.

Misbelief: For years, our society is following the wrong tradition. In earlier days, to keep women hygiene and safe, they were asked to be inside the home and do complete rest. But, it was adapted in totally a wrong and different way by society.

The Society: If a woman talks about her issues or anything regarding periods, nearby people laugh and make fun of her, this is all because of the wrong mentality over periods. This also let women not to talk about periods to avoid any embarrassments.
