India is predominantly not a country known to produce fast bowlers of the highest orders, but over the years there have been certain fast bowlers from India who have hogged the limelight with their ferocious bowling. The trend of bowling fast among the Indian bowlers has changed a great deal to which it was a decade back.

Over the years, there have been fast bowlers for India who have delivered speedy deliveries which have dismantled the opposition batsman. We have rarely seen Indian pacers click the 150 mark on a consistent basis but there are individual bowlers especially of the modern times who can bowl fast.

Here is a list of 5 fastest deliveries bowled by Indians in cricket:

Javagal Srinath:Answer Image

He was one of those rare Indian bowlers in the 90's and the 2000's who used to click 150 km/hr regularly, but due to his unavailability of official speed guns, many remained unofficial numbers. However, during the 1999 World Cup held in England, Srinath bowled the fastest ever delivery bowled by an Indian in ODI cricket when his speed touched 154.5 km/hr. He was also the 2nd fastest bowler in the tournament after Shoaib Akhtar.

Ishant Sharma:

Ishant made the headlines during India's tour of Australia in 2008. He bowled one of the greatest spells to Ricky Ponting at Perth in the Test series and then delivered one of the fastest balls in the following ODI series which eventually India won after beating Australia 2-0 in the best of 3 Finals. It was the Adelaide Oval that Ishant bowled at a speed of 152.6 km/hr.

Varun Aaron:

Aaron is a fiery customer and can generate sheer pace and bounce. His only problem has been lack of consistency to deliver the balls in the right areas. He had bowled quite a few fast deliveries and became India's 3rd fastest bowler when he bowled at a speed of 152.5 km/hr against Sri Lanka in the 2013-14 series.

Umesh Yadav:

When the fast bowler broke on to the scene, he was cited as the next big thing for India as he had raw pace and was unsettling batsmen on a consistent basis. From his very first match he showed the world that he could really bang the ball hard but the line and length were not not that great which made him leak runs.

The pace was never a problem with Umesh. He bowled the 4th fastest delivery by an Indian when he bowled a 152.2 km/hr delivery during an ODI series in Sri Lanka.

Ashish Nehra:

Ashish Nehra was a force to reckon with when he started his career and could unsettle the batsmen with his nippy pace. He was quite a sensation at the start of his career and used to regularly bowl at over 140 km/hr. His fastest delivery came in the 2003 World Cup. He bowled at 149.7 km/hr within a week after touching 149.5 km/hr. It was also the tournament where Nehra dismantled the English side with his impressive piece of bowling.
