Someone said it so right that at times we opt to choose a lie over truth just to escape from the adverse effects of anything.
When I was young, without telling anyone in the family, I got a puppy at my place. I knew my mother wouldn't want to keep him. I was adamant and I decided to lie to my mother by telling her that the puppy doesn't have a family and is looking for a foster home quickly. If he doesn't stay with us, we will be punished for the crime we did to let him off on the road. My mother, after listening to this got so emotional that she finally agreed to keep him with us.
A lie saved him and today it's four years that Sheero is a part of our family. I thank the lie somehow because it helped me keep him and I escaped from a punishment.
