Have you ever seen Aamir Khan promoting his upcoming like never before? I hardly witness a phenomenon where he is attending a talk show or appearing in commercials just to draw the attention of his audience. Never. Not at least in the last one decade. Then what dwindled him right before when his Thugs of Hindostan was all set to release. It seems Aamir’s so-called ‘gut feeling’ deceived him big time; therefore, he ended up being the part of a film, which is not even a poor copy of its Hollywood inspiration.

Story

Set in the era of the Indian struggle for freedom, Thugs of Hindostan takes off when the brutal British officer Clive (Lloyd Owen) kills Mirza (Ronit Roy) to grab his kingdom. This led the princess Zafira (Fatima Sana Shaikh) to form a band with Khudabaksh aka Azaad (Amitabh Bachchan) and swears to avenge his father Mirza and get the kingdom back. On the other hand, the British Company hires the puckish thug Firangi (Aamir) to keep an eye on Khudabaksh and his strategies.

Screenplay and Dialogues

Wow! A brilliant piece of writing.  The script and the screenplay have been peened so aptly that the genius of Aamir Khan could not gauge its worth. If either of the two-mega stars couldn’t get the flaws of the script, the rest only blindly followed. 10/10 to Vijay Krishna Acharya.

I must underline that dialogues of Thugs of Hindostan are apt and some of them even really impactful. But Alas! Only dialogues cannot save a sinking ship.

Why Should You Watch?

I hardly find any reason to recommend this film to you even on T.V. when SET Max will telecast it after a couple of months. By the way, the channel has paid a whopping sum to get its satellite rights.
