What is the significance of Manas Wildlife Sanctuary?

Manas Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Assam and is one of the UNESCO natural world heritage sites for the famous Tiger and Elephant reserves. The park also has some endangered animals like a Hispid Hare, Golden Langur, Pygmy Hog. The park is named so due to the presence of Manas river nearby, a tributary of Brahmaputra river.  The site shares its border with Royal Manas National Park in Bhutan.
