What is a router and how is it different from Modem?

Router:

The Router is the gadget which creates a network between the computers and other Internet-connected devices in your home.It sits between your LAN and Internet connection. It helps you to connect multiple devices to the internet through one single physical internet connection and lets those devices communicate with one another over the LAN.

Modem:

The Modem is the bridge between your LAN (local area network) and the Internet.
