Is there any way we can prevent Nipah Virus?

After the news of deadly and infectious Nipah Virus, a zoonotic virus which causes diseases and even death to both, animals and humans as well, it is extremely urgent to know about the prevention. Since there is no vaccination and treatment available except intensive supportive care, for now, the below mentioned important point would help you to avoid the infection. 

Since pigs and fruit bats are the main hosts for this virus, so avoiding any contact with these animals would help you. Know some more points:

• Do not eat fruits eaten by birds or animals
• Avoid complete exposure to infected animals, especially sick pigs and bats
• Wear a mask and gloves when contacting with infected people
• Avoiding drinking or eating anything where bats are flying
• Do not eat the fruits or nuts fallen from a tree
• Avoid drinking raw date palm sap
• Sanitize and wash your hands properly after attending the patients
