How to discipline a child who doesn’t listen?

Sometimes parenting is so hard !!!

One of the most common problems for all the parents universally is "how to discipline a child who doesn't listen?". We, as parents get tempted to take away the TV remote, video games and mobiles from them to punish them into good behavior. But they don't bother all this. What shall we do?

Answer Image

Then, we try to give them consequences. If you don't read now, you will not get TV. Still, he does not study, we add one more consequence, and one more. This is the common mistake most of the parents do. If our child refuses to respond to consequences, what else are we supposed to do?

How To Make them Listen to Us?

Teach them to Earn their Privileges:

We have to tie the consequences to a specific behavior. Make them understand that if they complete their homework, they will get the Video game to play. Don't forget to appreciate them and acknowledge their efforts if they do it on time and give them Video game as promised.

Give them Specific Instructions:

Instead of giving continuous and endless instructions in order to make them disciplined, stick to clear and specific terms. If you complete your homework by 7 pm every day you will get to watch TV. If he does not do, he will not get TV.

Next day when he does his homework by 7 pm, give him the TV remote without nagging about yesterday. A word of appreciation will help. The kid should understand the difference between punishment and reward clearly. He will be automatically motivated to become disciplined.
