There are 5 major oceans in the world. These are Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Southern Ocean, and the Arctic Ocean. It comprises the world. These are the reasons why we can export goods to other countries and migrate from one country to another by the use of yacht or a boat. Pacific Ocean:

There are a lot of active volcanoes that surround the Pacific Ocean. It is also known as the largest and deepest ocean in the world. It is approximately 165,250,000 square kilometers (63,800,000 square miles) in area. Its mean depth is 4,280 meters (14,040 feet) and it is reaching about reaching a depth of 10,911 meters (35,797 feet). It is also known before as the only way where people in Asia can migrate from one place to another. 

Atlantic Ocean:

It is bordered in North America, South America, Europe, and Africa. It is also known as the world’s second-largest ocean and approximately covers an area of 41,100,000 square miles. Atlantic ocean also formed during Jurassic Period. We all know the Bermuda Triangle in which we believed that when an airplane or boat will cross around the Bermuda Triangle they will immediately disappear. This Bermuda triangle is located in the Atlantic Ocean. 

Indian Ocean:

It is known as the third largest ocean in the world. The Indian Ocean also covers 20% of water in the Earth. It is being known as the warmest ocean in the world due to the growth of phytoplankton. The average surface temperature of the Indian Ocean is recorded as 220°C and drops 200°C with every descent of 1000 m. The oils that we used today are from the Indian Ocean. One thing that you should know about the Indian Ocean it is getting wider each year for about 20 cm. 

Southern Ocean:

It is known as the 4th largest ocean in the world. It comprises most of the Southern ocean water of the world. Some geographers believe that the waters of the Southern Ocean are really just extensions of the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic oceans. It is approximately about 35 Million square meters. It is the only ocean where you can see a lot of penguins due to its climate and environment. Only a few people can survive going in this ocean because of its icy and cold environment. 

Arctic Ocean: 

It is said to be the smallest ocean in the world.  It is located in the Northern Hemisphere and is almost completely surrounded by North America and Eurasia, including the countries of Russia, Norway, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and the United States. You can also see different species of whale like the bowhead whale, grey whale, narwhal, and beluga whale. Do you know that Titanic sank because of the iceberg that comes from the Arctic Ocean?
