Everyone experiences pain occasionally that may be back pain, head ache, hip pain, knee pain, foot pain, stomach pain and many more. These are normal pains and subside by taking normal drugs.
Fibromyalgia is a type of pain which include tiredness, sleep problems, memory trouble, bowel or bladder problems, numbness and tingling. Fibromyalgia is estimated to affect 2% to 8% of population. Generally women are more affected in comparison to men. The exact cause of fibromyalgia is still not known. It is thought to be genes inherited from parents. It may be abnormal levels of certain chemicals in the brain and changes in the way of central nervous system.
It may occur due to an injury or infection giving birth having an operation, death of loved one and many more. It generally develops between the age of 30 to 50 but may also occur in people of any age. Suggested treatment is medication such as anti-depression medicines and pain killers, exercise and life style changes. If the pain persists continuously and does not subside with normal medication then it is not normal pain but it is fibromyalgia.
