To remove nail paint from the sofa is a daunting task. For the whole process of removing, you have to take care about the leather not damaged. It is better to call the professional to get it off as most of the leather stuff cannot withstand by the products necessarily used for removing. However, if it is small bump then do-it-yourself methods can work well.

Method 1: When the stain is wet

If the nail paint is just wet then take a dull-bladed knife and scrape it off. Please careful in treatment as it may not stab the leather. Continue scraping till all the nail paint is removed. After scraping, use a cotton swab and rub the surface gently so that you get a clean leather.

Method 2: When the stain is dried

If the nail paint is just a drop or two and is dried off then peel it off with your fingernails until all is cleared. If it does not work then it is the time to use products.

Before using products it is better to test the product at the hidden place, wait for some hours to see the results then proceed. Certain product may damage your leather like acetone.

Alcohol should be the first product that you will use as it will cause less damage. But your leather may dry out so be careful. For this, take a cotton swab and dampen it with a little alcohol so that it may not drip. Rub the surface with it and until all the stain comes off.

If alcohol does not work then you can apply non-acetone remover. It will not bleach but for precautionary measure test it before applying. The method of removing the stain is the same as discussed previously (use the cotton swab and dab the stain).

Non-acetone remover is not very powerful than acetone remover. So, if you are still unsuccessful to clean the leather from nail paint then use the acetone remover. But it may bleach your leather. Before going to acetone product, it is better to call the professional to remove the stain as you may get a permanent stain of dying on it.
